I’ve read and watched a lot of material about visuals of storytelling. I found the article of the iconic picture of the Migrant Mother during the Depression-era was really interesting. After I read it, I thought, “what if that sign wasn’t there?” I think people on the other side of the country wouldn’t know exactly the struggles of families in California. They might have heard what it was like but wouldn’t believe it until they saw proof for their own eyes. The Migrant Mother is a perfect example of why a picture is worth a thousand words. It touches the hearts of many people.
